IOM provides administrative visa-related services through the Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC), aimed at making the visa application process timely and more convenient. Under the overall supervision of the CVAC Project Coordinator, direct supervision of the CVAC Regional Coordinator programmatically and directly to the Chief of Mission administratively, the incumbent will provide administrative support for the CVAC operated by IOM.
IOM announced the official opening of its new and improved Canada Visa Application Centres (CVACs) in Dar es Salaam on November 19th, 2013. The centres are operated by IOM under a global public–private partnership with Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) Global. The CVACs are authorised to provide administrative support services, such as the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants. The CVACs can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canadian visa office. The decision to issue or refuse a visa will continue to be made solely by immigration officers of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. The CVACs have no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.
